Psychiatrist, writer, columnist, radio talk host, sportsman, poet and public servant. A life full of success and philanthropic work on his  community. Dr. Wilfredo G. Santa, was born in the city of Caguas P.R. in the year 1949, he went to elementary school in a remote school in the town of  San Lorenzo, P.R. where he had the opportunity of  having great contact with nature , with agriculture and with the true “Puerto Rican Jibaro”. At age 15 he began his bachelor’s degree at the University of Puerto Rico, department of Natural Sciences the he moved to Spain to began his studies in medicine, studies which he finished in the island, obtaining his degree in medicine. While living in Spain, he traveled through Europe, Asia and part of Africa. It was in this period of his life that he published  his first novel “ The Experiment” 1974.  He became  member of the Spanish cultural society called “ El Cachirulo”. Later on he was chosen honorary member of the Editorial Collection of poetry “Coleccion Puyal” At the meetings of “El Cachirulo” he had the honor of meeting writers Camilo Jose Cela and Jose Antonio Labordeta and painter Viola, sharing  with them his ideas and his work. During this period he met the well known news writer Javier Ortega with whom he started a long friendship.


He studied  psychiatry at the Department of Psychiatry at The Harvard Medical School where he acted as Chief of Residents  and  Medical Instructor  of medical students and  medical residents. He was part of the medical staff of the Metropolitan State Hospital  of Massachusetts, the Gaebler Children’s Hospital, the Cambridge Research Institute, and the Cambridge Guidance clinic. During the period he had the opportunity of meeting and studying with Erick Erickson. Dr. Santa has scientific articles published in “The International Journal of Psychiatry”


He wrote his first poem at the age 8 , and published his first Science Fiction Novel in 1974, he has continued writing, in his field as a psychiatry he has published several self-help books, some of this books can be read for free on his internet page. For 9 years he hosted a radio talk show; “Ya No Estas Solo”(Never alone again): which is an educational program in the area of mental health. Because his work has reached international proportions he has been recognized and awarded by many  civic organizations.


Among his books we can mention : The Experiment-1974; La Gran Ventana (The Great Window)-1994; Por Qué Me Dejaste de Amar- Si Soy Del Planeta Tierra(Why Did You Stop Loving Me, If I am From The Planet Earth)-1996; La Salud Vista A Traves de Los Refranes; Por Un Camino de Estrellas(poetry)-1976; Sueños del Yukayeke(poetry).-1974; The Eight Universal Forces That Control Your Life-1998, and many short stories.His home page contains all his books, articles and radio tallk shows, available free for the word.
